LIFE-CASCADE - Closed-loop wAter Systems in textile industriai distriCts: multimodal orchestrAteD rEmoval of emerging pollutants from textile wastewater
The aim of the project is the laboratory-scale evaluation and demonstration-scale testing of a series of treatment technologies far the removal of PFAS and microplastic, pollutants of great interest far the textile sector, from wastewater both at the level of textile companies and at the level of centralized wastewater treatment plants.
The goal is to identify the best and feasible combination of technologies to be implemented in a textile district.
The implementation of the treatments will make it possible to reduce the discharge into the environment of these micropollutants both with the treated wastewater and with the sewage sludge and will allow reuse of the treated wastewater avoiding the reintroduction of pollutants into the production system.

Lo scopo del progetto è la valutazione in scala di laboratorio e la sperimentazione su scala dimostrativa di una serie di tecnologie di trattamento per la rimozione di PFAS e microplastiche, inquinanti di grande interesse per il settore tessile, dalle acque reflue sia a livello di aziende,che e a livello di impianti centralizzati di trattamento delle acque reflue.
L’obiettivo è identificare la migliore e fattibile combinazione di tecnologie di rimozione da implementare in un distretto tessile.
Lo sviluppo dei trattamenti renderà possibile la riduzione di scarico in ambiente di questi microinquinanti sia nei reflui trattati sia nei fanghi e permetterà il riutilizzo delle acque trattate, impedendo la reintroduzione di inquinanti nel sistema produttivo.
